This is a printable PDF template with detailing patterns for Queen Atlanna of Atlantis' tiara.

This template works best when cut out of 5 to 10mm high density EVA foam.

Personally I use CF65 from @Polyprops

Can't wait to see all your creations!

This was my own personal process, but there are some steps that are optional! Feel free to find your own method.

1. Make a basic foam shape out of 10 mm CF65 from @poly.props

2. Trace on the pattern.

3. I used a rotary tool/ dremel to carve in the grooves and nooks, in a way that is reminiscent of the shapes in coral.

4. I took a scalpel and cut out some of the holes deeper and made the spikes more spiky.

5. Use a heatgun to shape and smooth the foam.

6. (Optional) I added a row of tiny round studs and a thin strip of leather at the base, to give it a bit more detailing.

7. Give it a coat of @plastidipuk_.

8. (Optional) I mixed up some 30 min epoxy resin and coated it with one layer, then sanded it down to remove the grainy bits and then coated it AGAIN.... then I added puff paint along the spikes to make them pop a bit more... This creates a lovely smooth finish for the paint to come, but make sure you have shaped your piece by this point, as the resin WILL harden the foam completely.

9. Once paint is dry I sprayed two coats of the Montana silver chrome spray paint to get the super shiny chrome finish.
